Brinton Tries Out Stuff On His Own

I guess there comes a time when kids want to do things on their own and this summer was full of first for Brinton. He said he is 5 now, it is time to comb his own hair so I let him and I let him wear it for several days, knowing he would likely get sick of it and he did - but I still thought he was pretty cute!

Combing Hair

Figuring Out What Clothes Look Good Together
Don't know why but ties were a big thing for about a week at our house. Again, I knew he would get sick of it - but he is still cute!

Cooking
How cute is a little boy in a chef hat cooking.......so cute and so interested in learning. He loves to cook......mainly cause he loves food.

Organizing the Garage
I guess I taught him well.........he came in to get me telling he organized the garage. I LOVED IT - made me so proud!! Love organized stuff.....what a good boy!

Tally's First Hair Cut

We decided it might be time for a hair cut.........what do you think?

Serioulsy he needs a hair cut, rats nest every morning!

Ok, Ok time for a hair cut........last picture with his curls. We decided it was time since one of his cousins was playing with him and came up to me (Emily) this was the conversation.
Carston: Her's a girl?
Me: Nope, he's a boy.
Carston all confused: Her's hair is curly.......
Came right home and took him in to get it cut!

At the barber - getting in the chair, thinking he is so big and ready for a hair cut....yeah right!

Nope, I need my dada....there all better!

Seriously, we waited to long, look at that mullet.....(But her's not a girl!?)

Just getting started and already tons of tears.....

The barber, Alan was so great - he cuts so fast....

Tal did NOT like the clippers one bit, can you tell ~

Almost done!

Done and out of that chair. SUCKERS make everything better....

However, it was a sticky, hairy mess!

Look at me, no more curls...I'm a BIG BOY NOW! So sad.....no longer my baby!

STILL PRECIOUS!

My kids are NEVER tired during the day and they hardly EVER sleep in the car. But our little family vacation to SLC was just too much. We were only gone 4 days, but we did so much - the Zoo, the Aquarium, Swimming, swimming and more swimming, the move Up, Bennihana's, Shopping and more swimming. This says it all......pooped right out! So darn cute!

It took him a minute but he figured it out!

Talmadge Starts Walking

Okay so are boys are so similar!! They both walked 1 month and 4 days before their fist birthday......how crazy is that!!

Brinton Turns Five ~ 5 ~ Cinco ~ V

Morning of June 16 ~ so excited!! He got a scooter!

Grandpa Boo gave us an old 4-wheeler to use so we bought him a battery for his b-day and he was so excited.......got on and pushed the pedal and it took off.....

And just screamed, jumped off and ran into the house! He wouldn't get back on until our neighbor's little girl got on and had so much fun riding it, he decided to give it a try and rode it all summer...so much so the tires are about warn out! They are getting holes!

So we are doing "Special Birthdays" meaning he gets to have a BIG b-day party when he is 5, 8, 12....etc. So since he was turning 5 he got to invited anyone he wanted and well the list was such we had 22 kids invited to come and of course it had to be Star Wars. I made lightsabors for all the kids from foam floating tubes and duct tape. Made a Star Wars Lightsabor cake with cupcakes and we had a bounce house and a place set up for them to have duels. These are just a couple of the pictures from that fun day. Well the second time around he woke up the day of his first party with croup so we postponed it for a week.........so much fun!

This was his invite!

Grandpa Boo and Grandma Cece gave him an office Chef hat......can you tell he was excited. He loves to cook! We took him to a place like Bennihan's in Boise where they cook the food in front of you and he loved the chef and talked and talked about how he cracked the eggs and threw shrimp in people mouths and the shrimp tails in his hat.

Playing T-Ball ~ Green Monsters

Okay so Brinton was finally old/big enough to play t-ball. So we signed him up and took him to his first t-ball practice and he LOVED it. They were the called the Green Mosters per their green shirts. Since we can't just do anything half way, we went out to JJ Sports and got him cleats and baseball pants, Grandpa Boo already bought him a glove but he had to have batting gloves at his dad's request. Anyway, when game day came he was all decked out and might I add such a DARN cute t-ball player. He only had 4 games and he played like a pro (of course)! No really he always hit well over the bases and boy he would get so mad cause they only let them run one base at a time and Grandpa Boo told him for every homerun he hit he would give him a dollar and well since it was one base at a time......he did not like that part AT ALL!! He also got frustrated with the girls on his team playing in the dirt, he would tell us later those girls need to get in the game. He is pretty serious about sports.......looking forward to next summer when we get to play Coach Pitch. FUN ~ FUN ~ FUN
